Month 2 Margartias

For those of us keeping track, we all knew that yesterday marked 2 months for our unwelcomed “new” lives.  So, what do we do?  We drink margaritas.  Why?  Not because Willie loved margaritas,  but because El Sarape makes mucho delicious ones, and who wouldn’t want to have one?

Nancy and Me

Royal came home from work early to take care of Jayden, so I could leave to go to Shelton.  I went down to the funeral home to hang out with my parentals and wait for Jac to make it through Seattle traffic.  Joanna couldn’t make it this time, because she is in Phoenix with Kaylee.  Around 6:00, my mom, my aunt Nancy (marshmellow as she likes to refer to herself), and I headed to the cemetery.  Sadly my dad couldn’t come, as he had to work a service last night.  Ahhh, the story of my dad’s life…serving other people and not getting to be with his family….do I need to bring up who brought me home from the hospital when I was born??? ha ha ha, just kidding dad!  But hopefully this lifestyle of my dad’s won’t be for toooo much longer, right dad?? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)  Anyways…moving on….the 3 of us went up to the cemetery to wait on Jac, she was downtown buying coffee for her and Willie.  Luckily this time, no one had to jump the fence.  Did we make it there before it closed?  Nope.  We worked with our people in high places, a.k.a. my dad.  He talked to the peeps up at the cemetery and they offered to leave the gate unlocked for us.  So this time we were able to walk to the place where my brother is, we gave him some flowers, gave him some coffee, which I’m sure he would have remarked about how if you keep pouring coffee out, it’s going to really kill the grass.  We talked about how Willie would be so disappointed in the shape of the grass on his grave and wondered if we couldn’t just rip it out and put in some new green sod.  We talked about when the heck the marker might get done, and how Jordan is creeped out by the idea of the marker being on his “spot” too.  We eventually left, closed up the cemetery, and headed to El Sarape for greasy mexican food and a delicious margarita.

Food and drinks were good.  We all loved our margaritas and wish we had someone to drive us home, so that we could of all had another!  There was laughing and crying and it was good.  It is so nice to be around people who all love Willie.

Jac and Mom

One thing that was forgotten was mom was suppose to call Kaylee and Joanna while we were having our margaritas, so that they could make a couple for themselves, and we could all drink them together, while talking over speakerphone. (I’m sure the other guests at El Sarape would of loved that)  Ooops, sorry girls!!!  Maybe next time you can just come in person, since Kaylee - you’ll be in town!  Oh yea!!

Oh yea! Better believe it! I’m going next time. I’m glad I’ll be home to be with everyone and drink margaritas together in person. Joanna and I drank our margaritas a little late, but none-the-less, we drank them. I wore my chucks all day and the next day! We’ve been drawing our tattoos on our bodies with permanent markers. Can’t wait to do that too! See you soon and love you.

Rachel must have still been a little tipsy when she wrote the title since it is spelled incorrectly. I don’t want anyone to think that Jayden and I did not throw back a couple drinks in Willie’s honor. He had a tall stiff bottle of whole milk and I tossed down a pint or two of Lacey tap water. I know we are a couple of lushes, but I am sure uncle Willie would have been proud.

It is still so hard to accept that Willie is the reason for and not part of the party. He definitely wouldn’t have been drinking margaritas but he would have thrown back a few coronas or who knows what else. I still miss you desperately Will. This change is so hard to do and I am sad despite all the good things that are happening. Sad that you aren’t celebrating with us. Celebrating Rachel’s birthday on the 22nd, celebrating Jordan’s acceptance into the school of architecture. I know you are so proud of him as we are.
Thanks Rachel for keeping track of all these precious moments we spend together.
