So, many of you know that we got an offer on our house last week. We had an inspection done today, and if all goes well, Royal, Jayden, and I will be moving out to Wichita in the middle of June. This is all of course quite bittersweet. I am glad that we have a serious offer on our house, that the whole having to have it clean and picked up all the time might be over. Especially since I often times have to stick Jayden in the car and then go back in and pick up his toys, as he would usually follow me around and throw back on the floor the things I just put away. But selling the house means that I now have to deal with all the details of moving. Flying out to Wichita to buy a house out there, packing the house, figuring out how we are going to get all our stuff to Wichita, changing our address on everything (I HATE that part), etc… It also means I actually have to move to Wichita. Which it should be nice and hot by that time, and I love hot weather, but let me state again…I actually have to live in Wichita. Maybe it won’t be so bad, maybe I’ll love it! We’ll see… At least with our house selling, Royal doesn’t have to move out to Wichita and leave Jayden and I here to sell the house. We get to all go together!
In other great news, it turns out I’m pregnant and will be expecting baby #2 in November, as if you couldn’t have guessed from all the baby hats I’ve been knitting. My fam has known for awhile, but I told my dad he had to wait to tell people at least until his birthday. And as his birthday is on Thursday, I figure by Saturday morning the majority of Shelton will know about it. :) So far, this pregnancy has been as easy as Jayden’s. No morning sickness, I’m just real hungry all the time. I did make it through my week 8 crisis. With Jayden, I got a kidney stone. With this baby, I came down with a horrible sinus and chest infection and as soon as I got off those antibiotics, I got the flu. So, now hopefully things will be smooth sailing the rest of the way! Of course, I’m expecting to start downing papaya enzymes for heartburn soon…
I don’t get it

Life,
Jayden
Jayden got a present from Aunt Jojee that most people looked at and said, “I don’t get it”. Jojee got Jayden a pig. Not a pink, fluffy, when you squeeze it it oinks kind of pig. This pig is real hard and pretty much is just for decoration. I’m not sure where people put these pigs, but I can tell you what we do with it.
This pig used to live down at Lynch Creek. Whenever Jayden and I would go in to visit whatever family member happened to be working at the moment, Jayden would run over to this little pig on the floor, pick it up, and carry it around the store. It usually resulted in whining when we had to leave because we had to put the pig back. Well, not anymore! Jojee showed up with the little pig with a big blue bow around it’s neck. People at Jayden’s party looked at the pig and said, “I don’t get it”. There were even a few who after that story had been explained still said they didn’t get it, but of course these were the practical gift givers. Jojee is the aunt who gets her nephews all hyped up on sugar, gives them toys with lots of pieces, toys that make a ton of noise, and things that make Kaylee and I say, “oh we can’t wait for her to have kids, because paybacks gonna be fun.” Jayden however LOVES his pig. He didn’t play with it much when Jojee was over, so I put it in the house where he would find it sitting on the floor waiting for him. Sunday morning after his party, he found his pig sitting by the huge orange sunflowers (that Royal hates). He took his pig, carried it around, and then set it up in the window to look at the garden. Jayden was telling Pig all about the chives and lavender that are growing out there.

Then Pig did something naughty, because Jayden put him in timeout.

Obviously, all the excitement wore Pig out because Jayden put him down for a nap on the stairs. He looks dead, but really he’s just sleeping.

We had a party for Jayden’s 2nd birthday this weekend. Luckily the weather was nice, so we got to be outside most of the day.
Jayden was pretty excited about blowing out candles and people singing to him. He actually had me and Royal singing happy birthday to him all day.

Some of Jayden’s friends showed up too
Here’s Nate

Brady loved his cake

Delany and Jayden had lots of fun jumping in his new jumper, especially with all the sugar running through their little bodies

Look at the girls hair, I think there was some static…

Knitting and Fishing…does it get much better?
Royal, Jayden, and I drove down to Kelso Saturday morning to attend a couple birthday parties. We decided we would spend the night down there so Royal could get some much needed fishing time in. It also allowed me to spend some much needed time at the yarn store. I happened to have an entire skein of yarn left over from the ruby river sweater I made, so I took it back to La Favorites to exchange it for something else. And what other kind of yarn have I been obsessed with? That’s right, I exchanged it for some more baby cashmirino. I have a few more hats to make out of my new favorite baby hat book, and it just so happened that Jayden’s girlfriend, Mikalah, had a cold head. So, lucky for her, she got to keep my first little party hat. Sadly, Mikalah had to leave before I had the hat completely done, so I didn’t get to take a picture of her in it, but here is what the finished hat looks like!

And miracle of all miracles, Royal’s fishing trip was a success!!! He actually caught a fish! Yipee!! A Spring Chinook that I am so eating tomorrow!

Jayden was pretty pumped about it too! We’ll see how he feels when it’s sitting on his plate for dinner…

The March of Dimes has an event coming up called the March for Babies (used to be called WalkAmerica). It is an opportunity to raise awareness and money for premature babies, babies born with birth defects, and their moms.
I am walking in support for my friend Erica, who lost her son, Matthew, on December 21, 2005. He was just 2 days old.
The 5 mile walk is going to take place at Pt Defiance Park, on Saturday April 19th, at 8:30am.
You can register for the walk (which doesn’t cost anything), or donate money for the cause by clicking on the ’Sponsor Me’ link to the left. There is a link from there to Matthew’s page which tells his story.
Hope to see you there!

Are Girls Evil??? The Math Says So…
I’ve been helping a friend lately with one of her math classes. If you didn’t know, I LOVE math, so on Tuesday’s when she comes over, and I get to spend a couple hours solving rational equations, finding LCDs (Least Common Denominators), factoring, etc… I am in Heaven! I’m hoping my friend keeps on taking math classes and keeps on needing my help, because I am about to bust open my Calculus book or maybe my Number Theory book and start solving. Jayden somehow seems to know that she’s over and he must know I’m doing something I really like, because he takes the shortest naps ever and then I have to try and solve for x while fighting Jayden for my pencil and paper because he won’t stand to be anywhere else but my lap.
All this math made me think of one of my professors from college who always loved to say, ‘It isn’t good math, if there are numbers on the board’. He wasn’t my favorite prof because I happen to like numbers, and writing proofs for theories was not my favorite thing to do. Except for this proof. This was always one of my favorites. The mathematical proof that girls really are evil.
