I don’t get it
Jayden got a present from Aunt Jojee that most people looked at and said, “I don’t get it”. Jojee got Jayden a pig. Not a pink, fluffy, when you squeeze it it oinks kind of pig. This pig is real hard and pretty much is just for decoration. I’m not sure where people put these pigs, but I can tell you what we do with it.
This pig used to live down at Lynch Creek. Whenever Jayden and I would go in to visit whatever family member happened to be working at the moment, Jayden would run over to this little pig on the floor, pick it up, and carry it around the store. It usually resulted in whining when we had to leave because we had to put the pig back. Well, not anymore! Jojee showed up with the little pig with a big blue bow around it’s neck. People at Jayden’s party looked at the pig and said, “I don’t get it”. There were even a few who after that story had been explained still said they didn’t get it, but of course these were the practical gift givers. Jojee is the aunt who gets her nephews all hyped up on sugar, gives them toys with lots of pieces, toys that make a ton of noise, and things that make Kaylee and I say, “oh we can’t wait for her to have kids, because paybacks gonna be fun.” Jayden however LOVES his pig. He didn’t play with it much when Jojee was over, so I put it in the house where he would find it sitting on the floor waiting for him. Sunday morning after his party, he found his pig sitting by the huge orange sunflowers (that Royal hates). He took his pig, carried it around, and then set it up in the window to look at the garden. Jayden was telling Pig all about the chives and lavender that are growing out there.
Then Pig did something naughty, because Jayden put him in timeout.
Obviously, all the excitement wore Pig out because Jayden put him down for a nap on the stairs. He looks dead, but really he’s just sleeping.
Where did Jayden learn to step on piggie while he’s in time-out. Is that how you hold Jayden in place when he’s in trouble? I might try it. :)
He asked me if anyone had ever used bacon as bait while fishing, the pig looked worried, I told him we would try it next time out. I totally get it.
