My son, the gum chewer
Jayden has been pretending to chew gum for the past couple weeks. I’ve never even really thought about giving him gum, I just figured he’d swallow it or choke on it (he is related to Jojee afterall…) Now, I don’t know if this is something he picked up from his aunt Kay-kay and his cousins while they were here visiting (he did pick up the saying, ‘What the heck?’ from little Brennie, that he says ALL the time and over and over), but for some reason, Jayden has been real interested in chewing gum. He hasn’t asked me for any, he just walks around like he has something in his mouth and then when you ask him what’s in his mouth he says, ‘gummy gum’. So, yesterday I decided to give him some. I split the piece in half and when I gave it to him I explain you just chew and chew and chew on this, you don’t swallow it. I figured he’d swallow it the first minute I looked away, but I was wrong. He chewed on the sucker for hours, never swallowed it, and kept showing it to me and Royal saying, ‘look! gummy gum’, while opening his mouth. Royal finally made him spit it out when Jayden was taking a bath before bed, but today he’s back at it, chewing, chewing, chewing!
That is awesome! Now I know how Jaydo and I will bond…..gum chewing. Perfect! I will teach him how to store it in special places so he doesn’t have to throw it away. It will be great! :)
well it looks like he takes after his aunt Kay-Kay instead of his aunt Jojee. This is one area that I am more than okay he not like me. Choking is not fun…..not fun at all. I mean come on,we all know I really shouldnt be alone and have anything in my mouth.
I am not that excited about him being taught special places to store gum for chewing later. I just keep imagining that I will find it everywhere except the garbage where chewed gum belongs!
Perhaps he will be like his uncle trunk monkey and have to swallow gum such as strawberry bubblelicious :) I have to! Its too good!
oh what nightmares I could tell you about aunt Kay-Kay and her gum chewing!….if i were you, i wouldn’t let aunt kay-kay anywhere close to jayden to tell secrets to…..besides all the gum that ended up in her hair….jayden probably won’t have too big an issue with that…but you never know…and he would have a bald spot if you had to cut it out of his hair….but am positive some of our furniture was held together with kaylee’s gum, it was always on her headboard, or nightstand, or alarm clock or the edge of a glass, or falling on the floor, it was so bad, we actually bought her a “chewed gum holder”….so she could have a special place to put it…..it’s not like she couldn’t have fresh gum whenever she wanted to….she just liked the old chewed on for a day or two stuff…it became like part of her body or her best friend….and she just couldn’t bare to throw it away!!!!
is there such a thing as a gum addition or perhaps it’s a gum obsession….or perhaps kaylee has ocd related to gum….well at any rate….don’t let her tell her secrets to jayden…..
hugs and love to all of you ….
As an ex baseball player I’m pretty pumped about gum chewing Jaydo. He’s got a head start. We would get bucket of Bazooka Joe with comics and probably chew 10+ pieces per game. Wads! Anyway I don’t know if you wnat to encourage that today because there is no diet Bazooka. It is beter than tobacco chew! cute pics -Rand
