Jayden LOVES to tell stories. He sits in a chair with you, or on a bed, or wanders thru the house making up stories and going on and on and on. Most of the time you can figure out what he’s talking about, and sometimes he speaks in his and Papa’s special language, also known as gibberish, but somehow those two can really carry on a conversation in it. It’s really hard to record Jayden telling all these stories because he does not like it when I try and record him with the video camera. He must know that I will probably use these videos against him later… :)
3 months and 3 days old, Willow has figured out the skill of rolling from front to back. Way to go, girl!

Let her show you how its done. Take notes if you need to. (Sadly, the video camera is on the fritz, so you get still pictures…)

And just in case you missed something there, Royal will give you one more perspective on how to do it.

HAPPY ROLLING!
Dear little Willow has found her thumb! Jayden never really found his (he’s found his index finger for sure now and it’s always stuck up his nose). Personally, I think he didn’t have the patience for his thumb and he was too stubborn to actually find it. Now that I have experienced and got to know his personality over the past almost 3 years, I’m pretty sure he was waiting for his thumb to come to him and he wasn’t going to give into going to it. Anyways…little Willow…she found her thumb and managed to sleep through the night, a whole 11 hours! My nights with her aren’t typically bad, I usually only get up once with her, but it was still nice to get a solid 8 hours in. And then today, she cranked out a 3 hour nap! Wahooo!!! So nice, especially since Jayden isn’t taking naps anymore…but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

Here’s Jayden, he wanted to have his picture taken too.

And then Jayden decided he didn’t want his picture taken, this is him saying, ‘Noooooooooo’. And Willow looking a little shocked at how loud Jayden is.

Jayden showing his surprised face

Willow watching Jayden, thinking, “What the???”

Willow watching Jayden, finally figuring out what he’s doing

Jayden doing a nice dinosaur roar

Jayden doing a mean dinosaur roar….if only you could of heard it.

Here are some pics from tonite. Thought I’d give you some thing different to look at. Jayden crawled into Willow’s crib with her and was singing to her to keep her happy. Good kid. :) (Jayden’s ears are bright red b/c he just got out of the bath…:)…hmmm just like his aunt Kay-kay??? )

The clouds here in Kansas are soooo much different than in Washington. Washington clouds are so boring compared to these ones. Jayden and Willow and I were going to walk to the park today because it looked sunny out my windows while inside the house. However, we went outside and as we turned down the road towards the park, this is what the sky looked like. (can’t wait till I see those in a twisty shape…hopefully I’ll get a picture! Have I mentioned I’ve been having nightmares about tornados???)

Uh, yeah, I’m so not risking getting caught in a Kansas rain storm. Rain storms here are also nothing like Washington. Washington is like a nice little shower most of the time, real consistent, real wet, they last a long time. Kansas rain storms come on like a flash flood. All the sudden you start getting pelted with ginormous rain drops that soak in a matter of seconds and then if you’re lucky you’ll start getting hit with hail, so once again, there was no way I was gonna walk to the park and risk getting soaked in seconds with 2 kids. So, Jayden rode his trike down the driveway a bunch and only crashed a couple of times, as he has this nasty little habit of looking behind him when he’s going somewhere. On a trike, it causes him to turn his handle-bars and if you aren’t meaning to and are on a hill, it causes a tip over. While walking, I can usually warn him before he runs into walls or something, but when he’s going fast on wheels, he’s pretty much on his own. At least there was no blood this time. :)

Then once the rainstorm kicked in (that lasted about 5 mins), we ran inside and while I cooked dinner, Jayden entertained Willow by putting “spiders” on her head.

I made Willow some ribbon korkers to wear around because, well, she’s a girl and who doesn’t like to wear pretty little curly ribbons in the their hair. Since my girl, Willow, doesn’t have enough hair to clip a clip onto yet, I modified them a bit. I hot glued my ribbons onto little clips and then I bought some headbands on sale and cut a hole in them, where I could snap the clip onto. That way they are interchangable! Genious! I found instructions for how to make the korkers here Now that I know these are easy and fast to make, I just need some more ribbon!

Pink ones and red ones for Valentines day!

This kid doesn’t need ribbons in his hair to be called a korker!

It was a fantastic 70 degrees here on Saturday. Seems totally freaky for winter weather, but maybe it’s normal here. I obviously haven’t lived here long enough to know. :) We took full advantage though and headed off to the zoo, which we were given a membership to for Christmas. We started out at the kids farm this time, so Jayden (and dad) could pet the animals. I’m not sure dad didn’t enjoy petting the animals more than Jayden, at one point he got offered a job. Granted it was raking poop up, but I think dad probably would of enjoyed it. It would of gotten him inside the pens with the animals which is where I think he would of liked to have been.

Look at dad’s hand…he wants to be the one petting the goat. :)
